Standardization of mission critical Long-Term Evolution (LTE) has initiated efforts to incorporate public safety LTE on a global level. Public safety LTE enables communication using a cellular phone between users. Public safety LTE solution providers offer command centre software, Land Mobile Radio (LMR) and broadband PTT interoperability, vehicle-mounted modems, handheld LTE devices, add-on encryption solutions, and standard-compliant architecture based broadband systems.

LMR has been one of the most preferred communication networks for a variety of industrial use cases over the past few years. However, various limitations of LMR communication systems, such as high capital investment and short network range, are motivating end-users to procure PTT technologies for public safety LTE communications. PTT-based public safety LTE communications over cellular devices eliminate the restriction imposed by short network range and offers end-users a wide network coverage without the requirement of developing and maintaining an expensive and complicated communication network infrastructure. Owing to such benefits, PTT-based public safety LTE technology is now widely procured and utilized in industry verticals like transportation and hospitality.
